Haines Family | Phoenix, AZ Family Photographer
I constantly get parents saying things like “I hope my child smiles for pictures” or “Let’s hope they behave for our session” and I almost always say something along the lines of ” if they don’t, then that is perfectly fine with me!” I am usually met with a sarcastic “yeah right” and an eye roll haha.
During my sessions, I will rarely have my clients actually look at me directly. I am a LIFESTYLE photographer. My goal is capture emotion, not fake smiles. I want to capture all the in-between moments that truly show the joy, love, and happiness between the people in my lens.
This session allowed me to do just that. These little guys were absolutely not “feeling it” and could have cared less about smiling for me, being posed, or letting go of their water cups, HA! I walked away from this session feeling so excited and refreshed because in the entire hour we spent chasing these guys around, we were not able to capture one photo of all 4 people looking into the camera and smiling. But what I was able to capture was how much love these little boys had for their parents, the amazing team that Joy and Jeremy were in wrangling these two, and all of the silliness that occurred because of those two things.
SO next time you are worried about capturing that “perfect” family photo, just try to remember that the in-between moments are sometimes what is worth remembering.
